I just had them install windows and doors in my house.
I recommend getting at least 3 estimates before you
choose. I can not say how your experience will go,
but I can tell you about mine. They want 50% up front, 40% at start of installation and 10% when installation is completed. They take care of HOA and city approvals. It took 12 weeks to get windows installed and 2 more weeks for the door. I had 3 double wide windows and 1 wide window and 2 sliding doors done. It took 3 guys about 6 hours to complete the job in 1 day. All the windows and doors fit the first time without breaking ny of my marble window sills or damaging any floor tile installing the sliding doors. All the wood framing around the windows and doors were replaced no matter what condition they were in. They used ES windows. The ES Windows minimum PSF is +80 -80, which is 10% more than PGT, CGI, and ECO. They have the Low-e green tint glass. The final inspection will be Tuesday, which is a little over a week since the installation as completed. After the inspection, they will put the finishing pieces on the windows and doors and that will be it. They try to cover things up to keep the dust down, but it does not work. With all the windows and doors open, the plastic covers blew off and we had dust everywhere, because they had to grind some of the opening around the doors. I would recommend you buy your own plastic and cover as much as possible before they come. Overall i'd say I was happy with the workmanship of the installation. At the time we signed the contract, Es windows was giving a 10% discount on their windows, we got a 10% discount , because Eve had worked for the school board, and a 10% discount, because I had been in the service, and we saved, because their was no sales taxes. I do not know how much longer that will last. Rick & Eve |
